When to book
OCD is more than being neat or organized. If several of these ring true, a session can help. For themes, causes, and how treatment works, read our page on OCD.

Locks, stoves, messages, or work, over and over.
Washing, counting, or arranging in a set way to ease distress.

How therapy works
Your therapist picks the approaches that fit you. Most plans combine a few of these.
You and your therapist list your triggers and rank them, then work through them one step at a time.
You practice resisting the ritual that follows a trigger, so the urge fades without it.
Each step is planned together and explained first. You always know what comes next.
Your therapist works with your prescriber when medication is part of your plan.
Parents learn how to support treatment without feeding the cycle. See family therapy.
Secure video sessions for anyone in Illinois, alone or mixed with visits to the Lombard office.
